CEREC crown fabrication
The perfect system for creating full ceramic dental crowns using the CEREC system. The fastest fabrication and quality only at the Cvejanović dental clinic.

01
Fastest ceramic crown fabrication
The procedure for making a crown begins with scanning, which is completely non-invasive and takes only a few seconds, while the model of the tooth and the future crown can be seen immediately on the computer screen. If we suspect that the scan was not complete or that the patient moved, it is easy to repeat the process, whereas with the traditional method, repeated impressions represent an exceptional effort and are physically very unpleasant for both the doctor and the patient.
Then, using software that is part of the CEREC system, a milling machine crafts the crown from a ceramic block in front of the patient in just a few minutes. Previously, models were sent to a laboratory for crown fabrication (waiting several days) or the crown was made in the office (waiting a day or two), during which the patient often had only small parts of the teeth intended to carry the crowns, which is psychologically the most unpleasant part of therapy. When placing implants, the patient could get temporary crowns, but this represented an additional cost.
Once the crown comes out of the milling machine, it is processed and polished, after which it is immediately cemented in the patient's mouth, and the entire process from scanning to the first bite takes only 30 minutes.
02
Perfect precision, perfect smile
In addition to comfort, peace of mind, and savings, the advantage of fabrication using the CAD CAM CEREC system is the incredible precision of the fit for any restoration, dental crown, veneer, or ceramic inlay. The digital scanning and modelling process skips several unnecessary stages in crown fabrication, leaving less room for error. No matter how good a dentist is, it is very likely that a crown made in the standard way will not be a perfect shape but only approximately perfect—meaning it will function but will not be maximally comfortable, efficient, and beautiful, whereas the CEREC method achieves absolute perfection.
The next significant advantage of the CAD CAM CEREC system is that dental crowns are made from full ceramics, specifically from pre-made ceramic blocks. Just as laptops and mobile phones with single-piece aluminium housings are more highly valued, monolithic ceramic restorations, where the entire dental crown is made from the same piece of ceramic, are far stronger than those made by combining ceramic and metal or ceramic and zirconia. The bond between two materials is the weakest link in a crown, which is where cracking and chipping of the ceramic occur, which is why in modern dentistry, restorations are increasingly made of full ceramics.
The CEREC machine makes crowns from ceramic blocks
The only limitation of the CEREC technique is the occasional need to colour the crown differently from the original ceramic block; however, this is a process that takes only one day and is required exclusively for the most aesthetically demanding procedures and for teeth in the front zone. Also, it is not possible in every case to manufacture a crown for an implant in the CEREC machine, although this technique significantly speeds up the production of crowns for complete implant work by reducing the number of crowns that must be done manually to a minimum.
